Some of us are Book Club Widowers... that is while our spouses are at Book Club meetings, we may be alone, so we sometimes get together for fellowship, dinner, or to do something fun. Last week when the BCW met, we talked about getting together boat owners....which I'll call the Tolomato Navy.....form a flotilla and go somewhere. We also said it was too bad that there are a lot of folks who live on Tolomato who have never really seen the beauty of the pristine marsh, creeks, rivers, sounds or barrier islands which surround us. We want to do something about that.
Because boating is dependent upon weather, tides and time of day, Tolomato Navy trips are hard to schedule in advance. That said, some of the best time to be in a boat is in the fall and early winter. It is still quite warm but not blistering hot, and the fish, marine mammals, and birds move back into the estuary. If you haven't seen dolphins playing, pelicans diving, sharks feeding, eagles soaring, or the marsh at dawn or sundown, join us. If boating was a passion, but you are no longer a boat owner, join us. If you have room for guests on trips, join us.
Please register on this web site, and please post your name, and whether you can provide rides, or want to ride and generally when you are available, for example "weekends" or "Tuesdays". Few of us schedule short rides in advance. It might just be a great evening, and we head for the boats. Also note if you are available for last minute trips...often the best. With your input, we hope to match riders and rides.
Also, for those interested in longer trips, suggest where, and when. Hope you all have fun.
Please, if you can't swim, or have medical needs or would feel more comfortable wearing a PFD driving to the dock, let our sailors know.
